Over the past two years, Apple has held its events entirely online. The Worldwide Developer Conference of the Company (WWDC) is no different, and although there are a number of questions about whether the show will return to in-person format for 2022, it looks like we have to wait at least one more year for it. Apple today announced the date for WWDC 2022, confirm once again that it will be an online event.
The company also detailed a number of things we can expect to look at the show, although of course, it does not reveal everything today. Apple keeps sensitive things under the wrap, but we can look into the WWDC past to make some educated guesses about what will be revealed. Regular consumers can look forward to many talks about software with maybe some surprising hardware expresses during keynote, while developers and students are on a more intensive schedule involving learning laboratories and “information sessions.
While the Apple blog post announces WWDC 2022 is quite light in detail and focuses more on Apple developer resources planning to offer during a four-day event, the company does show at least by telling us that the WWDC22 will include details about the most iOS, iPados, MacOS , Watchos, and the latest TVOS innovation.
It is not surprising, because Apple often uses the Keynote WWDC to reveal a new version of all operating systems in the past. We can expect iOS 16 and new features to be one of the biggest expressions, although Apple might spend a lot of time talking about new updates to other operating systems, especially MacOS and Watchos.
Will there be hardware? It is an allegation of anyone – Apple usually focuses more on software in WWDC, but indeed revealed its transition to the silicon in-house in WWDC 2020. If Apple plans to reveal the M2 processor and the device will reveal this year, it can occur in WWDC 2022 (Although it is not possible).
In addition to our speculation, Apple has confirmed that the WWDC 2022 will include the new Apple keynote and status of the union address, so we know for sure that we can look forward to it. Apple will also hold challenges of other Swift students, although to participate, students need to build application projects in Swift Playgrounds and send them on April 25. More details about what can be found on the Apple developer site, but instead, look for WWDC 2022 for kick off on June 6.
